Sunday Sweets

The idea of Sunday sweets is that i post my top ten and the you post yours. I want to hear about your weeks too!
1.  Finishing my design project!!!! I literally worked on this all weekend, but I am very proud of my work :) For my country of inspiration I chose Persia/Iran.
My muse and mood board with the collection color story

day look #1, a party dress, inspired by the molding in a Persian Mosque

Evening look #1, A ball gown, inspired by a Persian artist's painting and pictures from the great salt lakes there.

Evening look #2, an evening gown, inspired by Persian calligraphy.

Evening look #3, fitted vest and flowing skirt, inspired by the children attending the Arouse Gol (flower of the brides) festival in Iran.

Day look #2. a layered skirt and knit top worn over a mesh body suit. Inspired by the skyline of the future.

Day look #3. Beaded harem style pants with a fitted vest. Inspired by the costumes from the Arouse Gol festival.

The whole collection, hanging up in my classroom.
 2. Receiving a beautiful bouquet of red roses from Jeffrey. :)
3. finishing up my drawing mid-term and receiving excellent feedback from teachers and classmates. Sorry, no pictures.

4. Visiting Berkley!
5. The awesome gord window display in Anthropology.
not the best picture, but you get the point.

6. The cafeterias introduced a make your own flat-bread pizza option this week. Yummm. I have been going for Parmesan cheese, red sauce, pepperonis, jalapenos, chopped tomatoes and cracked black pepper. I love the crust...like a cracker.

7. Hanging out with my friend Mango and getting to play his guitar. I really miss my guitar and need to bring it out here as Mango is rather selfish and complacent with his. :)
8. Darling roommate Angela accompanied me to H&M and Forever 21 in search of cheap jewelry to dismember and use in my design collection, we have fun together. She is going to be 80s Barbie for halloween and is going ape-shit about it. She now has sparkly, pink, 4in. heels, a pink cocktail dress, blond hair dye, about ten enormous and obnoxious necklaces of various shades of pink and purple, pink nail polish, pink earrings, pink bracelets, fake eyelashes...... I could go on. It will be ridiculous.
9. Going with my friends Daniel and Chante to Dolores park just outside the city, it is beautiful and has lovely views of the San Francisco skyline. When we went it was rather chilly but apparently on a hot day the park is dotted with hundreds of sun bathing, scantily clad gay men :)
10. Visiting the ocean with Mamma and Jerome. Jerome likes to tease mom and say "oh my GODDESS!!!!" when he sees something beautiful, like the ocean. I asked him if I could quote him on this to which he replied, "Oh my GODDESS! I say oh my GUINESS too!!" in a whisper and a goofy accent, "why Bethie, if I still drank I would have a Guiness right now!!! muahahahahahah"
mom, "Is that a stork?!"
Jerome, "Does it have a baby in it's beak????"
Yeah, these two are super goofy.

I would be fine with being homeless here. This guy has it pretty good if you ask me.

descending a daunting slope by rope.. oooh rhyme.

the daunting slope from the bottow. Enter Man with guitar.

Sand sculpture

there is just something nice about blurry tree and light photos. In my opinion.

All in all a pretty solid week.

Pictures and nonsense

one of my arm doodles.... David England should be notified of this :)

One of the coolest things about living in the city is that you can walk around a corner and suddenly see a fantastic view!

I love this chocolate building. I want he. I have drawn it many times in my sketchbook.

These are some views driving from Geyserville past Point Reyes and on to San Fran.

The Blue Angels have been practicing over the city constantly! They are incredibly loud and very theatrical. Every time they fly overhead I have the same thought sequence, first, "What the Fuck is happening!!!!!! We are all going to die!!!" then, "ohhhhhh...... Blue Angels.... God! They are flying too close together!!! They will crash into the city!! We are all going to die!!!!!!"

According to a city dweller, last year the Blue Angels broke the sound barrier over the city causing an explosion over it.

Sunday sweets

I am finally starting Sunday sweets!

This is all about the 10 top things, moments, people, etc. that made your week sweet.

Here goes, not necessarily in any order.
1. Hiking in Geyserville for a day, being outside and finding lots of beautiful rocks.
2. Polishing my best work of the quarter for a progress report was really fun.
3. Being allowed to leave my six hour long design class whenever I want :D
4. Matilda, an incredibly interesting and fabulous old Broadway actress whom I met in a park really made my Tuesday. We chatted for a long time about life and she had some excellent advise for me.
5. Hearing that my Uncle Bob is coming to the city this week for work!
6. The glass water jugs in the dining halls here are amazing because they have different fresh fruit combinations with the water each day and filling up my morning water bottle with the stuff is definitely a sweet treat.
7. A nice lady at the Commodore gave me a new room card for free on Wednesday when I lost mine.
8. Delicious lemon, chard and Italian sausage Mom, Jerome and I made last night. It was so good because the cirtus from the lemon gave all this unexpected juiciness and bang to the sausage (imitation of course). I highly recommend trying this one.
9. New sets of charcoal pencils! Soooo crucial to my artist existence.
10. Just generally getting to know people better and having more meaningful conversations with good souls.

Your turn!
